America’s Educational Accomplishments

I am quite impressed to know that Betsy DeVos is an educational activist, politician as well as a business person in America. Elizabeth was born in 1958 and raised in Michigan. Betsy DeVos attended high school at Holland Christian, a Michigan-cited institution. She then furthered her studies at the Calvin College where she attained her business economics degree in 1979. While at Calvin College, Betsy DeVos took part in campus politics. In my opinion, her skills and zeal in the policy were developed during her participation in school politics. Over the years, Betsy has been ranked among the most prominent politicians in the United States. At the moment, Betsy DeVos is the Education Secretary of the Trump’s government. She entered into her political role via the Republican Party where she is vastly known for her support of better school choice.

According to me, Betsy DeVos’ philanthropic actions are motivated by her interest improving education standards. The source of Betsy’s charitable funds is her company known as Dick & Betsy Family Foundation. Besides supporting education, Betsy uses the organization’s money to accelerate transformation in other domains including justice, leadership and community arts. According to my research, Betsy’s foundation raised approximately $11.6 million for donation. Additionally, Betsy DeVos’ philanthropic activities are encouraged by her husband, Dick DeVos. The couple has managed to give away $139 million over their lifetime. As I read the Forbes magazine, I noted that Betsy and her companion were listed among the America’s top philanthropists. I also provide that Betsy is considerate of retaining her family’s name. This fact is also demonstrated by her established institutions that are named after her.

Betsy DeVos educational-geared donations impacted the educational sector between 1999 and 2014. According to statistics, Betsy DeVos set aside almost $8.6 for Christian schools that were private. Charter schools received approximately $5.2 million and $59,750 for public institutions. Besides giving away generally, Betsy DeVos made individual donations to various schools including Ada Christian School and Holland Christian Schools. In my opinion, Betsy DeVos recognizes institutions built on religious basis and advocates for their transformation. Betsy DeVos values not only education but also religious activities concerned with advancing the kingdom of God. I postulate that her Christian beliefs partly motivate Betsy’s educational reform acts. Among the departments that Betsy will advance is the early childhood education. Betsy has put an investment of almost $1 million at a KinderCare Learning- support center. According to me, Betsy’s investment uniquely matches its purpose as it will enhance American kindergartens and childcare activities. Additional, Betsy intends to digitalize schools using her financial giving. Betsy DeVos plans to introduce digital textbooks with the help of digital book developer’s organizations. I postulate that Betsy’s strategy in the advancement of schools is outstanding.
