Background Data

According to many, the church is a sacred place where people such as Reverends are supposed to uphold the word of God. Well, unfortunately, as per the lawsuit filed by Jeff Herman, it is evident that the church might also be harboring people who pretend to uphold the word of God. As much as Reverend Francis Nave was able to meet a young 16-year-old boy through the use of social media, he decided first to earn the boy’s trust and later take advantage of him. Although the Reverend met the boy while he was in a depressed state and tried to help him out, the aftermath of his actions was not justifiable at all.

Since the boy was in a depressed state at first, Reverend Francis Nave was able to take the boy through counseling sessions which were conducted online through Skype. However, with time, the Reverend gained the trust of the young boy, and he decided to take advantage of the situation. In this case, Francis Nave would command the boy to strip and masturbate as the session went on. Sadly, the Reverend would also do the same. Luckily, the victim was able to get a hold of screenshots from the various Skype sessions.

After being a victim of sexual abuse, it isn’t easy to open up. Fortunately, the 16-year-old boy was able to come to terms with the fact that a reverend had sexually abused him. Since Jeff Herman has been able to gather substantial evidence linking the Reverend to the crime that he had committed, Mr. Herman will go ahead and convict the Reverend so that he may pay for the crimes that he committed.
